Press Release: Ireland is ramping up to Vote Yes to increased abortion access

The Abortion Rights Campaign say they’ve trained an average of 9 canvassers a day since the start of January. ARC spokesperson Linda Kavanagh said: “It is really important we can reach as many people as possible on the doors over the next few months. We’re really focussing now on getting our canvassers around the country trained up so they have the confidence to go out and speak to people about why a yes vote will ensure access to compassionate healthcare.”

She continued: “Yesterday ARC groups held 9 street stalls in towns and cities across the country, while a total of 100 people attended canvassing training in Cork and Sligo. More events will take place in Limerick, Dublin, Meath, Cork, Kerry and Belfast this week as activity continues to ramp up. Reaction from the public at our stalls has been hugely positive but we still have to reach lots of people who haven’t made up their minds. We’re encouraging everyone who cares about a yes vote to join their local group and get involved. We know that a modern, equal, progressive Ireland includes abortion access and that is why we are repealing the 8th amendment.”

Over the next 7 days we have:

On Monday 26th Lawyers4Choice are holding an open meeting in Trinity College for anyone interested in the legal arguments for repealing the 8th amendment
