It must include:\n• The risk of suicide as grounds for abortion\n• No more than two medical practitioners’ opinions to approve an abortion\n• State-wide access\n• Access to abortion if a foetus has a fatal abnormality and cannot survive\n• Decriminalisation of abortion \nA large majority support X legislation – shown in recent Irish Times and Sunday Business Post polls. The Dáil must act for the majority – not defer to a minority. \nAn EU conference on Gender Equality will take place in Dublin Castle on April 29. Come and demand that the Irish government legislates to ensure women get equal medical treatment to men: the right to any treatment needed to protect their lives. \nA woman needs the right to an abortion if pregnancy puts her life at risk. \nJoin Action on X at City Hall Plaza\, April 29th – 6pm

DESCRIPTION:Come to a zine-making workshop and help produce a pro-choice zine in 2 hours! \nThe Abortion Rights Campaign is creating a zine about choice – which will be the first of many. \nEmail your submission to actionsforchoice@gmail.com by 28th April. The workshop takes place on 30th April in Seomra Spraoi. \nWe are looking for submissions on any pro-choice ideas you may have – this could be an article\, drawing\, story or something else. \nHere’s a list of ideas to get you going – or post up other ideas you think might be interesting: \n– Comic strip of step-by-step abortion journey\n– Spotlight on…. (interesting pro-choice projects e.g. Derry)\n– Pro-choice groups map\n– Poems of women’s journeys\n– Profile of female activist\n– Lowdown on a contraceptive\n– Fact A Day image that Design Group are making.\n– Photos from 10 days of Action\n– BPAS telephone advice dialogue given by helpline woman\n– Liverpool being main recommended abortion stop for Irish women because of proximity to airport.\n– Lowdown on a contraceptive\n– Older historical recipes/remedies for women – witch hazel\, parsley\, etc. \nThe workshop will be a mixture of cutting\, pasting\, photocopying\, writing\, drawing and many other things.
